What happens if you persuade Vicki Michelle and Jeffrey Holland to join your cast?
When two writers who grew up watching classic British Sitcoms Hi De Hi and Allo Allo, got together, they decided to create a brand new sitcom, inspired by their favourite writers and stars.
BARMY DALE was created in lockdown and is now about to begin production on its third series for podcast and radio.
The Sitcom has already garnered three nominations for best comedy podcasts from around the world and is aiming even higher with a potential TV pilot being planned for later in the year.
Martin Skellern and Stuart Wheeldon were thrilled when they approached sitcom stars Vicki Michelle (Allo Allo) and Jeffrey Holland (Hi De Hi) to star in their new sitcom.
‘Both Vicki and Jeffrey have been mainstays of the second series of Barmy Dale playing Angie Edwards and Rev Wilkins and were joined by Jeffreys wife Judy Buxton (Mildred Wilkins), Karl Howman (Brush Strokes) and Mike Fenton Stevens (Benidorm) in the series’.
Apart from every episode being featured on BBC Radio Derby, the Sitcom can be found on all major podcast channels and series one was given for free to a number of Community radio stations from across the UK.
‘We are excited about all of our actors staying with us for another new series, and recently we have been persuaded by the stars to look at making a TV pilot of the show, this is something we are working on now'.
BARMY DALE is set in a fictional Derbyshire village and revolves around the escapades of Keith Meadows and Dan Parker, usually ending with both getting themselves into some sort of trouble!
