He is trained to care for a wide range of medical and traumatic issues; often serious and life-threatening.

Dr Schneider is Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Fellowship Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

His educational journey began with earning a medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) in Missouri. KCOM was founded in 1892 and is a non-profit, private medical school and the world's first osteopathic medical school. His internship was completed at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.

Dr Schneider completed his emergency medicine residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and served as the Chief Emergency Medicine Resident while operating as the Director of the Teddy Bear Clinic at the Detroit Zoo.  He later completed a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Phoenix Children's Hospital, Arizona. He obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Theology from the University of San Francisco, an M.A. in Philosophy from Holy Apostles College in Connecticut, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical ethics from Newburgh College, Indiana.

Currently, Dr Schneider is the Medical Director for BTMC’s Pediatric Emergency Department and Vice-Chair for the BTMC general Emergency Department.  Inspired by a tragic misdiagnosis of a family member in an emergency room, his personal crusade is to improve the healthcare of pediatric patients in the emergency department.  He is tasked to develop and educate a core group of emergency physicians and Allied Health Professionals with training relevant to accepted AAP standards while generating and updating clinical guidelines, protocols, and order sets in partnership with Banner subspecialists and community paediatricians. He is responsible for seeking out new innovations to advance patient care and satisfaction in an environment built on mutual respect, collaboration and collegiality between multi-level staff members with a continual focus on compassion, safety, quality and value-based care. Dr Schneider also trains emergency medicine residents from Maricopa Medical Center (Phoenix, AZ) in pediatric emergencies with hopes to drastically elevate the quality of care of pediatric emergency patients.

Dr Schneider is the director of the Banner Pediatric Clinical Consensus Group which continually defines, designs and implements various clinical practices charged with improving and standardizing care & delivering best practices throughout the Banner Healthcare system.  He remains clinically active as a pediatric emergency physician at BTMC. Banner Thunderbird Medical Center has served the Valley for more than 35 years making it the most preferred hospital in the Northwest Valley, highlighted by its pediatric emergency care.

As a practising emergency medicine physician at BTMC and involved in community healthcare, he founded the Arizona Mission of Mercy mobile clinic providing free medical care for the poor, homeless and uninsured patients. Subsequently, he founded the Medical Missionaries of Charity, a nonprofit charity which directs annual medical mission trips to the remote areas of Guatemala in partnership with the late Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity. He is a counsellor for Camp Paz, a bereavement camp for children who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

After completing fellowship training in pediatric emergency medicine at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Dr Schneider travels throughout AZ presenting lectures on various pediatric emergency medicine topics.  As a PALS instructor, he also created Banner’s first Pediatric Resuscitation Simulation Course to educate providers and improve pediatric resuscitation outcomes in emergency departments and health clinics.

Dr Schneider is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including the Healthgrades Honor Roll, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine Clinical Professor of the Year, City of Phoenix Community Services Volunteer Award, National Congressional Committee National Leadership Award, and the Maricopa County Services Volunteer Award, to name only a few. He has authored many professional publications including Utility of Portable Spirometry in a Pediatric Emergency Department in Children with Acute Exacerbation of Asthma.  Arizona is fortunate to have this “crusader.”
