The Wine, Women & Film Festival, a live event with a focus on supporting women in the wine and film industries, is thrilled to announce its upcoming live event indie film lineup and award winners!
Wendy Watts, Festival Director & Co-Creator commented, “The talent in this showcase is staggering, narrowing the field to 15 films to view was a challenge for the judging team. In addition, the awarded music video entries will be live screened during the Awards Presentation segment. Vivica A. Fox starred and co-produced the Best Feature Film, Twisted Vines, which also won Best Director: Feature Film, awarded to Jihane Mrad (who is also known for Bumblebee (2018) and The Last Ship (2014).
Festival Co-Creator Janet Hart opined, “After nearly a year of planning we are beyond excited that we are now only a month away from the conclusion of the collective efforts culminating in the event we envisioned.”
“In addition,” Janet praised, “We are honored and grateful to have the collective sponsorships of Visit YOLO County (Co-Event Sponsor) as well as The Instrumental Women Project and MADCatfish Media who are bringing us the live performance of renowned jazz musician and composer Sunnie Paxson.”
The Festival group also plans to feature the talented creators in the Official Selections festival showcase in our upcoming online publication, launching in September on winewomenfilmmagazine.com. According to Watts: “We will be announcing the online magazine release date soon. Official Selections in the film and music video categories are also eligible to compete in the voluntary Online Voting Event for the Audience Choice Award, which will be live for viewing and voting from September 18th - September 21st.”
