Matlock, Derbyshire May 23, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - The first Wirksworth 3 Minute Film Festival is now accepting submissions.
The film festival which is part of the Wirksworth Arts Festival takes place from the 16th to the 17th of Sept 2019.
With a focus this year on young filmmakers, especially the under 18 age group, the festival is offering free submissions of films through its dedicated partner FilmFreeway.
There is also free submissions for the 18-25 age group and for Filmmakers from the East Midlands.
Submissions for the UK and International films will incur a small fee.
Films must be 3 mins or less in duration, and this must include any credits. Films can have been made at any time. The deadline for films is the 25th of August.
Every film entered the festival will ever guarantee a showing, this will be at one of the numbers of venues spread across the market town of Wirksworth, Derbyshire.
Each film will also be judged by a panel of International Filmmakers for an award ceremony taking place at The Northern Light Cinema on the 17th of Sept, the winning films will be screened on this evening.
The festival has already secured a number of Partners, these include IPitch.TV and Blazing Minds award-winning film blog, but are still looking for interested potential partners who can support a new unique film festival.
The Film Festival is proud to support new and established filmmakers and offers them a unique setting for the screening of their films.

The festival is also privileged to be able to be screening the Indie classic, The Blair Witch Project, in support of the festival. The film celebrates it's 20th Anniversary this year at The Northern Light Cinema, Wirksworth on the 30th of July. The screening will be introduced by a specially recorded intro by the writer and director of the film Dan Myrick.
